The Turquoise clawed Crustacean

Every once in a while I'll try my luck with nail varnish but while I rather enjoy the effect on others it looks like something out of a creature feature on myself. So here I am: The turquoise clawed crustacean ;)

I wore this for the grand occasion of groccery shopping :) With the supermarket geared up for Easter I found some kids bunny bracelets with pastel coloured plastic beads amongst the party supplies. I got a four pack because they looked so irresistably sweet in a fondant kind of way. They're much too small for me of course but I am going to string them all together and make one adult sized bracelet. Kids can't have all the good stuff to themselves ;)

Now that the sun is leaving less room for layers I am feeling accessories a little more than usual. It's rare for me to wear earrings, necklaces or bracelets but I do own all of these items and I think I am going to bring them out of their box over the warm months :) It's cooled down since but on Friday even this scarf was a bit of a stretch.

Love the dress + skirt combo!

I'm always a little leary about nailpolish too. Sometimes it's fine, and sometimes it does make me look very clawed. I'm not clear on how you're a crustacean, though!

  3. I've turned to accessories to fill the void of losing layers as well. I love the light layers you've incorporated here though with the skirt under the dress. I usually just tuck my dress into my skirts but I rather like the effect you've got here and I think I may have to try it out. That nail polish is such a lovely color for spring and for what it's worth, I think you did a swell job. Can't wait to see the finished bracelet once you've reworked it into an adult size!

  8. Oh the Grand Grocery Shopping Event, yes, I know it and love to dress for it well :) Ya know I hope I get into the accessories more as the weather warms up here, too. I never feel bold enough to wear much but hopefully without tights that will change.

I love the print of the scarf with the print of your dress. And the skirt peeking out the bottom is such a nice detail and one I never would have thought of. You look really beautiful and I love the nail polish color on you too.

  13. I love all of your accessories! What a beautiful crustacean you are. I also don't usually wear a lot of accessories (especially earrings even though I have my ears pierced). I'm going to need to experiment a little bit more because I love everything about your ensemble.

  14. I love the dress over the skirt. You've got me thinking how I can possibly do something similar. And although I'm not one for nail polish either (it chips so easily), I'm loving this turquoise polish on you. Beautiful.

  16. I don't even spare my accessories a second glance during winter because no one can see them through my mountains of coats and whatnot. Maybe you're feelin' 'em because you can finally show them off.

I love the delicate colors you've combined and I'm sooo jealous that you can have fun with nail polish. I'm a barista and people don't seem to appreciate nail polish in their coffee.

  17. I love your skirt layers - need to have a go at this trick as it starts to get cooler here. I always have this weird confusion in May of how to dress for cold weather again!

These colors are a dream on you! I love the purple paired with the dusty rose AND I love your nails! Turquoise is one of my favorite nail polishes. I'm pretty lousy--but it doesn't stop me from applying that varnish :)

  22.  I love how you layered this outfit. This hat looks so great with it too.  How have you been? I'm sorry I have been so delayed in commenting! The bracelet reminds me of my childhood.
