Whoa Black Beret bam-A-lam

All winter I couldn't find this beret. I searched high and low for it but in the end I found it when I wasn't even looking.

Behind the desk. In case you were wondering.

I've been finding it really hard picking out tights just recently. After a series of ladders I am low on colours. These have a big tear too so I am down to orange, olive and white. And blue. Well, you know - I always have the blues ;)

In an ideal world I'd like the tights equivalent of a big box of crayons at my disposal. Lots of pastel shades and a few bold colours too. I like to dress like I am a flesh and bone colouring book picture and that 's a lot harder when I insist on ripping all my most awesome tights in short succession!

Alright you all, enough about nylon - have a great start to the week everybody! :)

beret: Accessorize a couple of years back
blouse: modcloth
cardi: some supermarket
jacekt: modcloth
skirt: ancient H&M
shoes: Office

  2. Things never appear when we want them , but when they are ready to be found, hehehe.
I love you in blue, but green is such a good colour on you. Loving the lacey top.
    Much love, my dear friend

I love the beret!! I always find things as soon as I stop looking for them too! The peter pan collar is cute too. I would also love to have a massive collection of coloured tights, but I rip them way too easily.

  4. Now I have that song stuck in my head!
Funny you you write about holey tights... I was tossing up whether to wear tights today and ended uo deciding not to - lucky choice, cause I took a spill and grazed my knee - no stockings would have survivied :)

  5. you seriously have the best clothes :) that coat is to die for. i have a few pairs of tights that have miraculously lasted season after season (HUE is officially my go-to brand), and am always giving up on awol accessories and then finding them at the most obnoxious times (like my leather gloves, which decided to reappear mere days after i had spent $50 on a replacement pair).

  6. I actually was just catching up on your blog just now and was thinking to myself as I read posts how *amazing* your tight color choices have been lately! So I think you're doing a great job with what you have basically ;) And I love the colors (as well as the proportions and textures) in this outfit in particular -- great job!

  7. I'm hoping my favorite necklace is pulling your beret's trick of hiding where I'll least expect it. Meanwhile, that blue camera bag of yours is still making me swoon with jealousy.

  9. I'm glad you found your beret! I'm loving this look, that top is gorgeous. It's so awful when tights rip, especially so many in such a short period of time! I usually just wear them anyway, rips and all ;) I'm classy like that! haha.

  14. I just love when I finally find things when I'm not actually not looking for them...one of the best feelings ever. The beret is adorable:) I'm a huge sucker for colored tights as well...I can never have enough. It's a bad addiction...hehe. Gorgeous as always!

  15. My problem with tights is that I seemingly never have all the colors I need--recently I wished for a bright kelly green and I've added burgundy to a list of colors I'm shopping for.

  16. I seem to be able to go a long time with my tights, but they always rip at the most inopportune times. And, when I say "rip", I mean ginormous holes, not teeny tiny runs. I think you may be on to something with the tights equivalent of a box of crayons. How great would that be? I love the cardi and lace blouse.

  18. Adorable outfit, I like the colour combo here, the mustard looks fab with the gray. I'm horrible with tights, I keep wearing mine out-- I'm down just to black pairs now. :(

  20. oh no! i hate it when tights get a ladder!
I'm sure you already know this, but just incase....
if you pop a wee bit of nail polish on the ends of the rip, it stops it in it's tracks. That only solves the problem for discrete ladders tho.

p.s. you look adorable as usual, especially with your beret and lovely jacket!

I LOVE that sentiment!! I know I tell you this all the time but I love your use of color and layering in your outfits. I dream of the full ROYGBIV spectrum of tights as well, but somehow I think that your currently small selection will challenge you to work out some really interesting outfits.

  23. Is Stef your name???
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  24. Yes, it's short for Stefanie and rather a scandalous abbreviation considering Stef is reserved for boys in German and girls are meant to be Steffi s :D Of course contrary old me just had to go by Stef.
