Dusty

We 've just crossed the 10 Celsius/50 Fahrenheit hurdle on the way to spring :D Look, no boots! I've been living in boots for the past few weeks unwilling to relinquish the extra leg warmth ;)

My new ride now goes by Dusty owing to its dusty green colour which is not entirely unlike the shade of my favourite pair of tights (which I am waring underneath the pair you see before you - it is warming up but it 's still awful cold. Alright, alright: I am chicken.)

The weather has been pretty soggy. What is good for the plant life sure isn't pleasant for the outfit blogger. I can't wait to see some green shoots though :)

The lack of sunlight reminds me of an article in yeseterday's local news: You'd think rickets was a thing of the past but here in Cambridgeshire it is on the rise thanks to over-anxious parents who smother their children in sunblock. You couldn't make it up.

When I wore this to work on Friday a couple of colleagues said I looked like I was about to break into a Lindy Hop which I thought was rather sweet. For the record, I only know one kind of dancing: Shaking my body about spasmodically interspersed with some jumping (jump up, jump up and get down - right?). I've heard about these things called co-ordinaton and grace and I sure hope they are overrated. ;) Once upon a time they tried to teach me to waltz at school. Embarrassing times.
Sitcom worthy. :D

Have a most excellent Sunday you all!

  1. You look adorable in these fresh blues! :D I am SO IN LOVE with that colour of tights too <3

I can't dance either and my preferable way of erm "dancing" is just as you described but with some movements of my preferable long and flowy skirt XD. Ah, coordination!

  3. The acorn dress!! I was pretty seriously considering buying this in that mad modcloth sale a few days ago... but didn't. And now - seeing this little ensemble, I'm kinda wishing I had!!

I am glad you are wearing two pairs of tights cause I just find it freaky when you see girls in the snow in sun dresses. Particularly when I am rugged up in a cardi at night because it is under 25 degrees C!

Happy Sunday to you too :)

The acorn dress is back! I love it all layered up with icy blues. Especially love your robin's egg blue beret... it seems to hint that the robbins should follow and get spring underway!

Um yeah, the info about the rickets just depresses me. Parents are incorrigible these days. The thought of putting sunblock on your children in the winter... in England...

  7. This is an adorable outfit - you look absolutely lovely in blue. I'm glad it's warmed up enough to go without boots (albeit) with double tights. We're experiencing extremely cold weather here and I'm not sure it's gotten over 30 the past couple of days. Yuck.

  14. Hello Dusty!
I love the colours in this outfit, and what a great comment from your coworker! Haha, dancing is fun, even just the spasmodic kind ;)
That's crazy about rickets being on the rise... :S There are a few people in my town who have it too, but they're really old. Parents need to calm down and let their kids get SOME sunlight!

  16. I am always at a loss for words at your amazing ability to color coordinate with shades of the same color. The resulting outfit is so harmonizing....I really can't express it in words......sometimes you just softly contrast your background....sometimes you blend in yet stand out somehow. I do not know how you do it....but I find your photos absolutely magical.

Aside from that, you're sporting the most wonderful array of blues. I love it! I'm heartbroken, Stef. I missed my chance to scoop up the Acorn-ucopia dress during Modcloth's big sale. So sad. However, it is awfully fun seeing you style it in the most creative ways.
