Grey is gray

This isn't actually a top. This is a dress. I remember wearing it as a dress, I am just hoping it shrunk A LOT in the past twelve years because even if I grew an inch since I was sixteen (and worryingly I don't think I did) this hardly covers my bum. So yeah, dress no more. This covertly turned into a sweater at some point :) Maybe it transformed to spite me for leaving it untouched at the back of my wardrobe? There you go, now I am anthropomorphizing my cloths. I carry on like that before long I'll be sporting a whole 'nother kind of tight fitting garment ;)

And on the obligatory unrelated note:
Since discovering them through Erica's blog I've been crazy about First Aid Kit.

Hat: trad. Austrian
Coat: Tulle
Knit dress: Austria in the late 90s
Brooch: Etsy
Belt: eBay
Skirt: H&M a few years ago
Socks: Superstore
Boots: Corral

  1. I definitely get that with some of my older clothes! Did I really used to wear that dress with no tights? It's transparent... and so on.

Surprising to see you in all these neutrals, though I notice you snuck in a green belt! I like the monochrome, for once. : )

  18. I looove all the different pieces to the look! So unique and cozy- especially the coat!

I can totally relate to the mysterious-shrinking-dress issue you've been having. Going through all my older dresses for this Dressember thing has brought to my attention the fact that my toosh is turning into more of a hill. haha. Doesn't help that a lot of fashion merchandisers keep making dresses smaller and smaller- even someone with a negative butt would have a hard time keeping it all hidden!

  19. I am totally obsessed with First Aid Kit. They are amazing! Hilarious about your sweater...luckily I never keep clothes for that long so I don't have too many cringeworthy realizations about how short my clothes were. I do remember having a serious penchant for crop tops which is always a pretty poor wardrobe choice!

  22. Worryingly this happened to me with a dress I bought one year ago.! After a summer on the shelf, I took it out and couldnt believe I was prancing around in it just last winter.! It now belongs to my friend who's 5 inches shorter than me :)

    Great blog!
