All purple no prose

Meet my satchel. It 's brand new although the listing had "vintage 60s" in the title. There is no denying vintage is "in" when sellers imply that brand new items are second hand. After accumulating a lot of "essentials" in the hefty tote I'd been dragging around with me over the past couple of months I expected I'd have to downsize but it all fit my satchel no problem.

As if my purple beret and knee socks weren't enough, here is some prose after all.
I am sure you've all heard Bulwer-Lyton's infamous "It was a dark and stormy night" but I must say, I think Garrison Spik's prize winning example is even more stirring than that old classic:

"Theirs was a New York love, a checkered taxi ride burning rubber, and like the city their passion was open 24/7, steam rising from their bodies like slick streets exhaling warm, moist, white breath through manhole covers stamped 'Forged by DeLaney Bros., Piscataway, NJ.'"

Christmas is getting closer! Hope you all are having a good week :)

  2. oh, it's a nice satchel. i really want one like that in red, but I've just spent all my money on posh snow boots, which funnily enough are stuck somewhere in the post because of the snow.

Love this outfit btw. a purple beret!

  4. I love this whole outfit!! Bit annoying that they lied about the satchel, but who cares when it's so cute? I love the collar of your top, and the pleats in your skirt are really nice.

  5. I've been fooled too by sellers who sell so called 'vintage items'. I bought a 'vintage' top on Ebay but afterwards I found out it's actually a top from... Primark. :\ Ah well!

  6. That satchel kind of looks like the red and yellow one that Mod Cloth has that is over $100 and I have been eyeing. It's beautiful! And I love your skirt as well. Great look : )

That's horrible that people assume something is vintage when it isn't. I had that happen with one of the tops I bought. They said "Vintage" but I think they meant "Second hand" haha.

    I love your top!!!

  10. hahaha oh goodness, i did not even think about that pose looking like air guitar. too funny.

and yeah. . that whole row of books are Dune books since my husband is obsessed with it. I've only read the first 3 in the original series. The other shelf in the first row are loads of Philip K. Dick books that my husband loves (his favourite author. . he has more elsewhere in the house) and the other half are all my anti-human trafficking books (minus one on loan out)

  12. Great title! It definitely made me laugh, as it the excerpt. Must have been a contestent for the bad sex award, I think.

In other news, that satchel is fantastic! I saw a similar one in a market here not long ago but definitely couldn't afford it! Ebay, hmm?
